Starbucks & Saatchi & saatchi X banter...!

So in the last post i told you about our trip to London, more specifically Saatchi and saatchi X. I mentioned we got given a live brief..it was for Starbucks (see below our starbucks work). Dan liked our starbucks work and said we should try this brief and try use the same visual style. As i was making my way home for summer after London, myself and Stefan used skype to talk about how we could do the brief. We decided on how we would create these visuals and thought of some copy for them and stefan set out creating them, i cant currently put them up beeeeeeccccaaaaauuuuussssssseeeeee, we had an email after days of waiting for emails from Ant and Dan, but we finally recieved an email monday morning which i will tell more on later

not alot more i can say on this...but congrats Stefan we did it!!!

London Book crit's

So...Myself and Stefan decided to try and get ahead of the game and get some book crit's in down south..the big smoke! We travelled to London early monday morning with the intentions of seeing Mother and Wieden and Kennedy, Unfortunately Mother cancelled on us...we partly expected this due to there workload they mentioned they might not be able to do it, its just the way the advertising world is. Anyway we travelled to Wiedens and entered for our first crit. It went really well, Sophie and Ben who we saw gave us some really good feedback on our work. We then were in a bit of a dilema with where we were staying as my friend Barry told me we could stay at his but he wasnt answering his phone, i phoned Sam my brothers friend and eventually made our way to Wanstead to later find Barry calling saying he had left his phone as his girlfriends, we just stayed at sams monday evening.

Tuesday was a big day for us, seeing both Ogilvy and Saatchi & Saatchi X. We made our way to Saatchi's to which i had been for a visit before..sitting waiting for Ant melder to arrive only to find he was with his wife having a baby, so we saw a guy called Dan, the feedback couldnt of gone better, not only that but because he liked our Starbucks work he gave us a live brief for Starbucks to work on (more on than later).
We then headed to Ogilvy after some lunch and shopping in central london, Again a place i had visited before but it was a first for Stefan..amazing building. We were taken to the creative team we were seeing and again great feedback from them, giving us tips on how to improve and what they liked/disliked. We then went back to Barrys and went out on the evening to celebrate stefans birthday.

Wednesday, we headed to central London where Wcrs were situated, only to find they had cancelled on us, after some emailing and persistance we managed to see Tom which was a relief, really good feedback from him as we felt he was just really honest on what he liked and disliked and what could make our work better. We then made our way over to Grey who to cut a long story short cancelled while we were in the reception..apparently they had sent us an email, nevermind...4 out of 6 is really good and a great experience.

Brahm Sh!

So myself and Stefan (my creative partner) entered the Brahm Sh! awards for advertising, we were selected for the shortlist of 12 which was great news. I travelled down to leeds this morning with a digital portfolio intact as Stefan has taken ours back to Holland. The interview went really well, did a bit of talking about who i was, what i have done and showed my work and it all seemed to go really well. The awards dinner is next wednesday and i still havent decided if i shall be attending seeing as though its a mission of a trip there and back.

Starbucks

The brief was to make people aware that starbucks do more than just coffee, specifically the frappuccino cold ice drink. Myself and my creative partner Stefan van zoggel created this campaign, the aim was to show it was a refreshing alternative to just normal hot coffee.

Retro is so now..!

Brief- To take your given object/product or in my case...place! and design 3 billboard posters in a chosen style in Adobe illustrator (art deco/1930's travel poster/propaganda/WW2 etc)

I was given SCOTLAND and chose 1930's travel poster, i think a little bit of art deco is coming through also though.
